Sinaloa.- The mayor of San Ignacio, Iván Ernesto Báez Martínez, led the civic event commemorating the 211th anniversary of the beginning of the Mexico’s independence, accompanied by the president of the municipal DIF Elizabeth Covarrubias de Báez.
The ceremony was held on the esplanade of the municipal palace of San Ignacio, Sinaloa, with the presence of school authorities, students from the different educational establishments of the municipal seat, military authorities, councilors, municipal officials and municipal DIF staff.
After the honors to the national flag, the mayor, accompanied by Lieutenant Colonel Eduardo Cobos Castillejos, second commander of the 110 Infantry Battalion, went up to the central balcony of the palace to raise the flag.

Báez Martínez was in charge of reading the review of what happened on the night of the Cry of Independence by Cura Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, who called on the people to rise up in arms. As a special guest, there was the elected mayor of Panantepec Oaxaca, Humberto López Parrazales.
