There will be great drivers in 1/4 Mile

With the participation of the outstanding pilots, Ricardo “Callín” Zamora, José Daniel “Piojo” Rico and the Cedano brothers, Cristian and Luis, on the 18th and 19th of this month in Villa Union the first edition of Snatching 1/4 Mile.

Reemberto Zamora, head of the Acceleration Commission, and Jesús Manuel Muñoz, logistics coordinator of the event, explained with the presence of Fabiola Green, director of Imdem, that the drag races will be on the Villa Unión-El Walamo highway, next to the José Matusima baseball field.
Between 40 and 50 pilots are expected to participate.

According to Zamora, they have already confirmed drivers from Celaya, Durango, Nayarit and Sinaloa. A report from the State of Mexico is expected.

“Part of the great work that comes in the Institute is to turn to the rural area in conjunction with a planning that allows us to go beyond this ¼ mile event. I am convinced that by working together we will go far, “said Fabiola Verde.

Reemberto Zamora commented that the objective of the full acceleration event is once again to give shine to sports motorcycling, since Mazatlán has been a great seedbed of pilots throughout its history.

The event starts on Saturday, December 18, from 12:00 to 17:00, with the welcome to the pilots, recognition of the track that will be located on the Villa Unión-El Walamo highway.

On Sunday, the activity begins at 12:00 hours, with the category 600-750 cc modified motorcycles.
Once finished, the Free category will take place, so that at 6:00 p.m., the awarding of the first three places for each category will be held.

The first site will pocket 3,000 pesos in cash; the second, 2,000, and the occupant of the third rung will get 1,000 pesos.

In February, Motorcycle Carnival
Zamora also reported that they are already coordinating with Fabiola Verde to carry out the Motorcycle Carnival in February.
“The idea is to do two or three events a year of this beautiful sport,” said Zamora.
