Trevor Lawrence, chosen No. 1 in this year’s NFL Draft, failed to lead the Jacksonville Jaguars to victory, falling 37-21 to the Houston Texans in Week 1 of the NFL.
Lawrence, had an outstanding first appearance in the league, after shining during his student years, where from high school to college, he had never lost a game, until today.
Trevor showed his ability on the field when he threw a 44-yard touchdown pass that was captured by DJ Chark, a play that raised the fans inside the NRG state.
The Jaguars quarterback finished with 332 total yards, making 28 of 51 passes, 3 touchdown passes and 3 interceptions.
The 332 yards in Lawrence’s debut will go down in history as the fourth-best mark for a rookie quarterback. The record still belongs to Cam Newton, who recorded 422 yards in the already distant 2011 with the Carolina Panthers.
