Teen dies in fight between policemen and men allegedly drunk in Querétaro

Queretaro.- A dead teenager and an injured person was the balance of a brawl which ended in fight between elements of the Municipal Police and the National Guard and a group of people in El Cerrito, in the municipality of Tequisquiapan in the state of Querétaro.

According to local media, a group of people resisted being arrested for ingesting intoxicating beverages on public roads and disturbing the order in the community of El Cerrito.

On the night of Friday, September 10, neighbors notified the authorities of the presence of a group of men who were drinking intoxicating drinks and disturbing the inhabitants. Therefore, municipal police and national guards made a tour to attend the report.

When they arrived at the place, and when proceeding to make the arrests for administrative offenses, the subjects put up resistance and the atmosphere became tense, to the extent that they began to attack the police, who repelled the act, according to local media.

Presumably during the actions there were firearm detonations, where an adolescent and an adult man were injured. The authorities requested reinforcements and the support of paramedics to attend to the wounded, who when they went to the scene determined that the young man no longer had vital signs, while the other man was transferred to a hospital.

For its part, Attorney General of the State of Querétaro reported that it is investigating the events where the adolescent died and one person was injured.

“So far, it is known that the event occurred when a group of people was disturbing order on the public highway and began to attack municipal police officers, who were on tours, in conjunction with the National Guard,” reported the Prosecutor’s Office from Querétaro through social networks.
