Puerto Rican salter Víctor Manuelle leads new event for Alzheimer’s

A traditional walk that takes place in Puerto Rico to raise funds and awareness of the disease Alzheimer; this year it will be led by salsa singer Víctor Manuelle.

The sixth edition of the “Walk for your hero” event will be held on the island on September 26.

The salsa singer said that there is a commitment to caregivers, family members and Alzheimer’s patients. The statement recalls that the salsero’s father suffered from this disease for more than a decade until he died.

Attendees, in turn, will enjoy musical entertainment from the moment they arrive at the old Normandie Hotel at the entrance of the Old San Juan islet.

Upon entering Calle San Agustín, they will be able to greet Víctor Manuelle from their vehicles in order to maintain physical distance.

The first 500 vehicles to arrive will receive a package with educational material, hygiene and personal care items, among other things.

The World Health Organization defines Alzheimer’s as a degenerative disease of brain cells (neurons) of a progressive nature and of unknown origin and one of the forms of more widespread dementia and known.

Thanks to their efforts, they have been able to help more than 400 Puerto Rican families by reimbursing expenses related to the care of Alzheimer’s patients, such as companion services, nursing, medical services, distribution of adult diapers, medications and medical equipment. among others.
