NFL: Mac Jones will be tested by opposing defenses this season

The quarterback of the New England Patriots, Mac Jones, will have a difficult task this season, as he must show his potential to break down the defensive barriers of rival teams.

It didn’t take Jones long to learn it early in the season, in New England’s loss to the Miami Dolphins.

The Dolphins defense tried everything they could to get the Quarterback make poor decisions, forcing you to lose the ball on the first play. They applied lightning pressure 21 times.

Only Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys was subjected to the load more times (33). And only Ryan Tannehill (12) of the Tennessee Titans and Zach Wilson (10) of the New York Jets suffered more rushes than Jones last week.

This performance put the New England Patriots defense in the red lights, on the eve of facing the New York Jets.

Seeing Jones hit so much in Game 1 didn’t sit well with the New England Patriots’ offense.

The Jets fell short in a 19-14 loss to the Carolina Panthers in Game 1, but the defense also tried its best to make things difficult for Panthers quarterback Sam Darnold.
