In an interview for ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk, the president of basketball operations for Los Angeles Clippers of the NBA, Lawrence Frankrevealed that Kawhi Leonard has been cleared to start training camp.
“It feels very good. His plan is to participate in everything. And I think organizationally, we’re going to be cautious. So it will be a step by step approach“said the manager.
Leonard missed all of last season while rehabbing from a day.anterior cruciate ligament tear in one of his knees, which he suffered from game 4 of the playoff series against the Utah Jazz in June 2021.
While this is excellent news for the Clippers, having one of the best players both offensively and defensively in the entire NBA, Lawrence Frank assured that they will be cautious with Leonard’s workload.
“It is authorized. He will say, ‘Look, I want to do everything.’ Again, we will be very cautious in the approach. When you’re dealing with a major injury, you can’t predict. I know that he wants to do everything with him, but let’s see how he feels every day. We have an outstanding medical team and we are playing the long game with them. So we are not here to go into predictions of what he will or will not do.Frank added.
