The South Korean musical group Monsta X continues to conquer the US market, one of the most important in the music industry. Recently the boy band made up of Shown, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney e I.M., they launched their new song completely in English “ONE DAY”.
It is a bittersweet and beautiful song at the same time, about the lost love and introspection that happens once a final breakup is made. A part of the new single from Monsta X dice:
Holding my breath and then I count to ten
Towards the following, that’s what my mother said
All my friends, they never liked you
But they never knew you like me
They say hindsight is 20/20
Maybe I, maybe I’ll see you one day
One day, one day, I will
Yeah I wish I could have made you love me
Maybe I, maybe I will feel it someday
One day, one day, I will
But right now I’m drunk, right now I’m lost
Spilling my guts to the ghost in our apartment
Mmm, they say hindsight is 20/20
Maybe I, maybe I’ll see you somedayOne day, one day, I will
Prior to the release of “ONE DAY”, Monsta X had made the message of their new musical release very clear. A teaser image read the following: “I wish you the best with someone new, but they will never love you like me.”
Through a statement from Starship Entertainment (agency that launched and represents the K-Pop band), Kihyun commented: “It has been a long time since we released a song in English, to release this song, we have had a lot of support and help from many others, I would like to give my most sincere thanks “.
Likewise, the young Idol said that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, they could not see MONBEBE from other countries: “however, they have always been light and energy for us, a special thanks to our MONBEBE. Please give a lot of love to ‘ONE DAY‘and look forward to our new songs coming out in the near future. “
In the MV we see the six members of MONSTA X perform in several rooms of an empty house, this introspective and melancholic song, contemplating a romantic relationship that went wrong. Broken glassware suspended in midair, flickering televisions, scattered rose petals, clock fronts surround each person, reminding them of moments when they are in the process of understanding and abandonment.
It is worth mentioning that the song and the MV were recorded before Shownu enlisted for mandatory military service.
