Mexico City.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) revealed that Mexico will take the presidency of the Security Council of the United Nations Organization (UN), during the month of November.
AMLO informed that, due to the appointment, he could appear at the headquarters of the HIM-HER-IT located in New York City, United States, for the formal event in which Mexico assumes the presidency of the Security Council.
“I am analyzing attending the United Nations in November, because Mexico is going to hold the presidency of the UN Security Council,” declared AMLO.
Andres Manuel He assured that he has been advised by the Secretary of Foreign Relations, Marcelo Ebrard and the Ambassador of Mexico to the UN, Juan Ramón de la Fuente, to attend the event for the new appointment of Mexico.
“Both the secretary (Marcelo) Ebrard and the United Nations ambassador, Juan Ramón de la Fuente, have suggested that I attend, I wanted very important because Mexico is going to be president of the UN Security Council.”
However, the federal president did not confirm his attendance, reiterating that it is a possibility to travel to the United States in the month of November.
“It is not very far, we can go and return, I am evaluating it, but it is for November,” he mentioned.

This would be AMLO’s second trip abroad as president of Mexico, and the second to the United States, after meeting with Donald Trump at the White House on July 8, 2020.
