This famous property is among the 21 prizes that will be raffled through the National Lottery and for this, the National Institute to Give Back to the People the Stolen (INDEP), had to carry out some remodeling, such as eliminating the video surveillance systems with the that contained the house, as well as covers the duct that was under the bathtub that connected with the tunnel through which “El Chapo” fled in 2014.

Likewise, the walls of the facade were painted white and the property was thoroughly cleaned, and all the furniture was rehabilitated from closets, bathrooms and air conditioners.

The house that has been visited by countless journalists and citizens is located in a strategic point, there is only one continuous house on the left and on the other side there is the channel that connects with the bathtub through which Joaquín Guzmán Loera escaped.

From the beginning, the construction of the home did not stand out above others found in the neighborhood, but it also did not go unnoticed since on some occasions they arrived in a small garage, while its rear facade had cameras that pointed to the street.

It was then that at dawn on February 17, 2014, the house woke up surrounded by Navy trucks and soldiers who blocked the steps on the street, without thinking that, after entering the home, they would find the tunnel under the bathtub.
