Government will give 35 thousand pesos to victims of Veracruz, Hidalgo and Puebla by Hurricane Grace

The Secretary of Welfare, Javier May, reported today September 9, 2021 that those affected by Hurricane Grace in Veracruz, Hidalgo and Puebla they will receive a support of 35 thousand pesos. “In 64,513 homes in the three states, a one-time support for housing of 35 thousand pesos in cash will be given, which represents an investment of 2,258 million pesos, with the objective that the affected families can make repairs or rebuild their homes to return back to normal as soon as possible ”. During the President’s Morning Conference Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), the official explained that on August 21, the Hurricane “Grace” it made landfall in the state of Veracruz, causing damage to that state as well as Puebla and Hidalgo.

He said that the Government of Mexico responded immediately to the emergency, in an orderly manner with the other government secretariats.

Javier May explained that, on the instructions of the president, a census was carried out in Veracruz, Hidalgo and Puebla to identify damage to homes and crops and loss of belongings. He said the census was conducted from August 28 to September 3.

He narrated that a total of 101, 983 homes belonging to 3,733 communities in 149 municipalities of the three entities were registered.

The official added that the support will be delivered directly and without intermediaries.

He explained that for the recovery of crops and animals, 47,484 supports will be delivered, each of 4,500 pesos in cash, making a total of 214 billion pesos.
