Baja California Sur.- Next Monday, September 20, the students and educational staff They will return to face-to-face classes on a mandatory basis in the state of Baja California Sur, according to what was announced by the State Public Education Secretariat.
The educational order is given despite the fact that both the president Andrés Manuel López Obrador and the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) have emphasized that the return to classrooms in educational establishments, within the framework of the 2021-2022 school year, would be optional and, in no way, would parents be required to send their children to the classrooms, due to the fear that many have of the pandemic of Covid-19.
The head of Education in Baja California Sur, Alicia Meza Osuna, said that “presence is mandatory in classrooms by teachers, children and young people. This despite the fact that parents want their children not to attend the schools, as it is an obligation. “
In this sense, the state official indicated that it is a call that is in accordance with the right of minors to be cared for in schools to which they are registered.
Meza Osuna specified that it will be by means of circulars sent to sector heads, zone supervisors, as well as directors and teachers, that the new provision in educational matters will be announced in relation to mandatory return to face-to-face classes.
The public servant stated that, in accordance with the last report presented by the former secretary of Public Education of BCS, Gustavo Cruz Chávez, for the first days of August, only 5% of basic education students were willing to return to the traditional scheme, while around 20% of students at the higher level showed the desire to return to educational centers.
