Legislators of the Congress of Mexico City approved a point of agreement to request to the head of the Secretariat for Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection (SGIRPC), Myriam Urzúa Venegas, to render a report to know the protocols from performance in relation to the revision from estate, as well as the number of opinions issued on the structural safety of buildings, from the earthquake recorded the night of September 7th.
Deputy Héctor Barrera Marmolejo (PAN) pointed out that the point of agreement was born at the request of the worry from neighbors that are affected by various properties, after the movement reported in recent days.
In this sense, the deputy Elizabeth Mateos Hernández of the Democratic Women parliamentary association, asked to change the wording of the point of agreement, which was approved by the legislators, to request the Secretariat of Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection of the capital, a report to know the protocol what do you have for check the damage generated in real estate structures, both public and private.

Deputy Barrera Marmolejo specified that in this scenario, the CDMX government cannot think about austerity, since there are issues that should not be spared.
“You must bet on the culture of prevention and the mitigation of risks to have guarantees that the buildings, schools, cultural spaces, the Metro public transport service and both public and private offices are in optimal condition ”, he said.
Deputy Carlos Cervantes Godoy stated that the so-called “strategic” buildings are currently being reviewed, such as schools, hospitals and government buildings.
“In the case of private properties, there must be a request from detecting the structural damage to the Institute for Construction Safety, which is empowered to issue opinions on the matter,” he recalled.

For her part, Deputy Marisela Zúñiga Cerón, from Morena, pointed out in relation to educational institutions that the protocols in the culture of prevention have advanced, thanks to this the children have a greater awareness of self-care.
